    That the agenda for the regular meeting of Council scheduled for May 31, 2021, BE ADOPTED.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the attached minutes of the regular Council meeting held May 10, 2021, be adopted as read on this day and that such minutes as read set out all of the business before Council at that meeting and fully and properly record all of the resolutions and bylaws passed and adopted by Council at that meeting.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON DEVELOPMENT DESIGN - HILLARY MORGAN, CHAIR
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES the Terms of Reference for the Advisory Committee on Development Design attached as Appendix “B” to the report dated April 29, 2021, from the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Development Design, titled “ Advisory Committee on Development Design Terms of Reference.”

SELECT COMMITTEE ON POVERTY REDUCTION - COUNCILLOR MURRY KRAUSE
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council RECEIVES FOR INFORMATION the report dated April 29, 2021, from the Chair of the Select Committee on Poverty Reduction, titled “Select Committee on Poverty Reduction- Final Recommendations for Council Consideration."

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES the recommendations of the Select Committee on Poverty Reduction, titled “Select Committee on Poverty Reduction Final Recommendations” in the attachment to the report dated April 29, 2021.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DISSOLVES the Select Committee on Poverty Reduction as the Committee has achieved the objectives outlined in its mandate as defined in the Committee’s Terms of Reference.

STANDING COMMITTEE ON INTERGOVERNMENTAL RESOLUTIONS - COUNCILLOR BRIAN SKAKUN, CHAIR
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council ENDORSES, for submission to the 2021 UBCM convention, the resolution titled “Increasing Capacity in Provincial Court Systems through Alternative Coordinated Initiatives” set out in Schedule “A” to the report dated May 20, 2021 titled “Updated Proposed 2021 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Resolutions."

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council ENDORSES, for submission to the 2021 UBCM convention, amendments to the resolution titled “Improved Efficiencies in the Prosecution of Criminal Offences” set out in Schedule “A” to the report dated May 20, 2021 titled “Updated Proposed 2021 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Resolutions."

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to distribute the endorsed resolutions set out in Schedule “A” to the report dated May 20, 2021 titled “Updated Proposed 2021 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Resolutions” to all BC local governments and the North Central Local Government Association.

STANDING COMMITTEE ON FINANCE AND AUDIT - COUNCILLOR GARTH FRIZZELL, CHAIR
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES Option 2 as described in the attached Staff Report to Standing Committee on Finance and Audit from Walter Babicz, Acting City Manager dated April 16, 2021, with funding in the amount of $40,000 from the Council Contingency Fund.

ACTING CITY MANAGER - WALTER BABICZ
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council CONSIDERS the request from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club to provide financial support of up to $250,000 towards hosting the 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships and World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup Finals to be funded from the Major Events Reserve to the extend possible and otherwise from the general tax levy, and subject to the Club entering into a Sponsorship Agreement with the City on terms and conditions satisfactory to Administration.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council GIVES FIRST, SECOND and THIRD READINGS to “City of Prince George Climate Action Reserve Fund Establishment Bylaw No. 9206, 2021.”
