  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council RECEIVES FOR INFORMATION the report dated July 16, 2025, from the Director of Planning and Development, titled “Monthly Building Permit and Development Permit Summary (June 2025)”.

COUNCILLOR KYLE SAMPSON AND COUNCILLOR TIM BENNETT
  • RECOMMENDATION #1:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to coordinate and facilitate a Business & Retail Crime Response Forum, with requested participation from the RCMP, and invited representatives from the retail and business community, including organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Prince George to represent local and small-scale retailers, and an invitation for staff from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General to participate.

  • RECOMMENDATION #2:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to report back to Council with a summary of outcomes and next steps identified by participants, recognizing that the City’s role is to help facilitate stronger collaboration between the RCMP and local business community to address ongoing crime and safety concerns.

  • RECOMMENDATION #2:

    That Council CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025”, in conjunction with the current Financial Plan and confirm there are no issues.

  • RECOMMENDATION #3:

    That Council CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025”, in conjunction with the current Regional District Solid Waste Management Plan and confirm there are no issues.

  • RECOMMENDATION #4:

    That Council CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025”, in conjunction with the City of Prince George Strategic Framework for a Sustainable Prince George and confirm there are no issues.

  • RECOMMENDATION #5:

    That Council GIVES SECOND READING of “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025”.

  • RECOMMENDATION #6:

    That Council APPROVES the following public consultation process to fulfill the requirements of Section 475 of the Local Government Act:

    1. Request for written comment from properties identified on Exhibit “A” to CP100218;
    2. Publish notification of public consultation in accordance with the “City of Prince George Public Notice Bylaw No. 9329, 2022”.
  • RECOMMENDATION #7:

    That Council EXPANDS, from 30 metres to the notification area shown on Exhibit “A” to CP100218, the distance, as required in the "City of Prince George Development Procedures Bylaw No. 9423, 2023", for the mailing of notice of the public hearing for the "City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025" and "City of Prince George Zoning Bylaw No. 7580, 2007, Amendment Bylaw No. 9546, 2025."

  • RECOMMENDATION #8:

    That Council GIVES FIRST AND SECOND READING of “City of Prince George Zoning Bylaw No. 7850, 2007, Amendment Bylaw No. 9546, 2025”.

    In addition, any recommendations presented in the preceding items must be addressed to the satisfaction of the Director of Planning and Development.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES the City of Prince George apply for the Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF) Capital Infrastructure Stream as described in the report dated July 28, 2025 from the Director of Civic Operations titled “Grant Application – Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Strategic Priorities Fund, and if any of the applications are successful, AUTHORIZES the Director of Civic Operations to sign the associated funding agreement(s).

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council CONSIDERS the options presented in the report dated June 2, 2025 from the Director of Civic Operations, titled “Statutory Holidays – Snow and Ice Control Policy Amendment Options.”

COUNCILLOR TRUDY KLASSEN

In accordance with City of Prince George Council Procedures Bylaw No. 8388, 2011, notice of the proposed motion is provided. The proposed motion will be included on the August 18, 2025 Council Meeting agenda for Council's consideration.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the City of Prince George supports the application to Northern Development Initiative Trust from the Northern Regional Construction Association for a grant of up to $20,000 to support the “It All Starts with Construction” marketing campaign.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the City of Prince George SUPPORTS the grant application to Northern Development Initiative Trust, Recreation Infrastructure Program, from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club for $214,500, 50% matching funds for the purchase of a new grooming machine to maintain the club’s cross country and biathlon trail networks.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the City of Prince George SUPPORTS the application by the Community Arts Council of Prince George & District for the NDIT Cultural Infrastructure Program grant of up to $120,000 to support the Prince George Playhouse Lighting System Revitalization project.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That there being no further business the Regular Meeting of Council, BE ADJOURNED.
