    That the agenda for the regular meeting of Council scheduled for September 25, 2023, BE ADOPTED.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held September 11, 2023, BE ADOPTED as read on this day and that such minutes as read set out all of the business before Council at that meeting and fully and properly record all of the resolutions passed by Council at that meeting.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council RECEIVES FOR INFORMATION the report dated September 14, 2023, from the Director of Planning and Development, titled “Monthly Building Permit and Development Permit Summary (August 2023)”.

COUNCILLOR TRUDY KLASSEN AND COUNCILLOR BRIAN SKAKUN
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to develop a Council/Staff relations communications policy that incorporates the Council Code of Conduct or any other internal policies, as well as any applicable related sections of the Community Charter and Local Government Act. This policy shall include clear guidelines with respect to how the mayor and council give and receive information from City administration be it in private meetings, emails, text messages, phone calls, or in a public setting. 

COUNCILLOR TRUDY KLASSEN
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    Whereas it is the pleasure of Council to encourage the recognition of those who contribute above and beyond through their efforts to support the Arts, Council:

    1. INSTRUCTS administration to invite the Community Arts Council to work together to establish an award installing inductees to an Arts Hall of Fame that would hold an event recognizing the inductees and establish a recognition board in a visible location in City Hall and if appropriate, in a civic building dedicated to the Arts; and
    2. DIRECTS Administration to return a report to Council on/or before November 20, 2023. 
CITY MANAGER - WALTER BABICZ
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council:

    1. APPROVES $20,000 from the Council contingency fund to be allocated toward a Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative to be delivered and administered by the Prince George Downtown Business Improvement Association (“Downtown Prince George”) on behalf of the City;
    2. AUTHORIZES public notice to be posted of the proposed partnering agreement with Downtown Prince George for the purposes of the Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative; and
    3. following posting of the public notice, AUTHORIZES the City Manager to execute a partnering agreement with Downtown Prince George to provide services on behalf of the City for the Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative, on the terms outlined in the report dated September 20, 2023 from the City Manager titled “Partnering Agreement with Downtown Prince George”, and in the form otherwise satisfactory to the City Manager.
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to utilize Option 1, Option 2 or Option 3, for advertising future internal/external committee recruitment opportunities as described in the report dated September 13, 2023 from the City Manager titled “Options for Advertising Council Committee Volunteer Recruitment Opportunities.”
