    That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held March 11, 2024, BE ADOPTED as read on this day and that such minutes as read set out all of the business before Council at that meeting and fully and properly record all of the resolutions passed by Council at that meeting.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council CONSIDERS options A, B & C as described in the staff report dated March 6, 2024, from the Director of Civic Facilities & Events, titled “City Grants Review: Options for Future Direction and; DIRECTS administration to return a report outlining the implementation plan on Council’s preferred option and/or other direction.

    That Council: 

    1.    CONFIRMS that its comments on the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch’s prescribed considerations are as set out in the report dated February 27, 2024, from Director of Planning and Development for Liquor Licence Application No. LL100194;

    2.    CONFIRMS the methods used to gather the views of potentially affected property owners were in accordance with Section 4: Statutory Notification and Public Consultation of the City of Prince George Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Policy and that the views of affected residents are as summarized in the minutes of the Council Meeting held on March 25, 2024; and 

    3.    SUPPORTS the approval of the Liquor Licence Application to allow a liquor primary use for Alibis Bar located at 1466 3rd Avenue, for the following reasons:

    This application is not expected to have a negative impact on the community or produce any significant negative land use impacts on adjacent properties.

    2.    CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9458, 2024.”, in conjunction with the current Financial Plan and confirm there are no issues.

    3.    CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9458, 2024.”, in conjunction with the current Regional District Solid Waste Management Plan; and confirm there are no issues.

    4.    CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9458, 2024.”, in conjunction with the City of Prince George Strategic Framework for a Sustainable Prince George and confirm there are no issues.

    5.    GIVES SECOND READING of “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9458, 2024.”.

    6.    APPROVES the following public consultation process to fulfill the requirements of Section 475 of the Local Government Act:

    a.    Request for written comment from properties shown on Exhibit “A” to CP100206; and
    b.    Publish notification of public consultation in accordance with the “City of Prince George Public Notice Bylaw No. 9329, 2022”.

    7.    GIVES FIRST AND SECOND READING of “City of Prince George Zoning Bylaw No. 7850, 2007, Amendment Bylaw No. 9459, 2024”; and 

    8.    PERMITS the Public Hearing for proposed Bylaw No. 9458 and Bylaw No. 9459 BE WITHHELD until the following requirements have been met to the satisfaction of Administration:

    a.    Receipt of a Servicing Brief; and
    b.    Receipt of a Traffic Summary.

    9.    PERMITS that consideration of Final Reading of Bylaw No. 9458 and Bylaw No. 9459 BE WITHHELD until the following requirements have been met to the satisfaction of Administration:

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council SUPPORTS UNBC's application for a financial grant up to $100,000 from the Prince George Regional Account from the Northern Development Initiative Trust. The purpose of this funding is to upgrade the gymnasium floors and sports equipment of the Charles Jago Northern Sport Center (NSC), ensuring this facility remains safe, functional, and relevant to the evolving needs of the Prince George community.

    That there being no further business the Regular Meeting of Council, BE ADJOURNED.
