    That City Council DIRECTS staff to report back to Council on the City’s authority to ensure Statutory Building Schemes and Restrictive Covenants are met, varied or removed by the owner/developer prior to permit application or construction.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON COUNCIL REMUNERATION
  • RECOMMENDATION #1

    That Council CONSIDERS the options related to Council remuneration and future remuneration review frameworks outlined in the report dated January 2, 2026 from the Advisory Committee on Council Remuneration, titled “Proposed Amendments to City of Prince George Council Remuneration Bylaw No. 8414, 2012”; and

  • RECOMMENDATION #2

    That Council DISSOLVES the Advisory Committee on Council Remuneration, having fulfilled the mandate assigned by Council.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES:

    1. Staff applying for a grant of up to $50,000; and
    2. Up to $8,900 in funding from the Major Events Reserve Fund, should the grant application be successful;

    for FIFA World Cup community celebrations, as described in the report dated January 23, 2026 from the Director of Civic Facilities and Events, titled “FIFA World Cup Watch Party Update”.

    1. Vary the definition of “Contractor Service, Major” by increasing the maximum percentage of the gross floor area of the building used for accessory office, technical, administrative support, or retail sale operations from 25% to 69.3%, as shown on Exhibit “A” to VP100711.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPOINTS one or more members of Council to the working group, as detailed in the report dated January 22, 2026 from the Director of Administrative Services, titled, “2026 NCLGA AGM and Convention Planning Committee Working Group”.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council:

    1. SUPPORTS the City submitting a grant application to the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Community Emergency Preparedness Fund –Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in the amount of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to support the EOC Training plan for 2026/27 and purchase additional equipment for the EOC; and
    2. AUTHORIZES the City’s Director of Finance and Director of Administrative Services to sign the grant application and subsequent contract documents should grant approval be received; and
    3. That the City of Prince George will ASSUME overall grant management should grant approval be received.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council GRANTS FINAL READING AND ADOPTION of “City of Prince George Comprehensive Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 7557, 2004, Amendment Bylaw No. 9599, 2025”.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council GRANTS FINAL READING AND ADOPTION of “City of Prince George Purchasing Bylaw No. 8841, 2017, Amendment Bylaw No. 9606, 2025".

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    WHEREAS the City of Prince George recognizes that multiculturalism and inclusivity are fundamental to a strong, resilient, and vibrant community; and

    WHEREAS initiatives that celebrate cultural diversity and promote mutual understanding contribute to social cohesion, community pride, and positive outcomes for residents of all ages; and

    WHEREAS local festivals and cultural events provide important opportunities for youth engagement, cultural education, and meaningful participation in community life; and

    WHEREAS collaboration and participation from residents, local organizations, and regional partners across Northern British Columbia strengthen the impact and reach of such initiatives; and

    WHEREAS external funding support is critical to the sustainability and success of community based cultural events and this request is in support of $2500 towards the Northern BC Multicultural Children’s Festival initiative;

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of Prince George formally recognizes and affirms the importance of multiculturalism and inclusivity within the community; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Council supports local initiatives that promote youth engagement, cultural education, and social cohesion; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Council encourages participation and collaboration from residents, local organizations, and partners across Northern British Columbia in support of these initiatives; and

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City of Prince George provides its support for the festival’s funding application to Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT).
