    That the agenda for the regular meeting of Council scheduled for April 12, 2023, BE ADOPTED.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held March 27, 2023, BE ADOPTED as read on this day and that such minutes as read set out all of the business before Council at that meeting and fully and properly record all of the resolutions passed by Council at that meeting.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council ENDORSES the proposed resolution that is attached to the report dated April 5, 2023 from the Mayor, titled “Proposed Resolution to Prioritize Municipal Input in Future RCMP Contract Policing Decisions”, in support of the City of Prince George joining the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in calling on the federal government to commit to ensuring that local governments are meaningfully consulted, fully informed, and at the table on issues related to policing costs given the municipal role in keeping our communities safe.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council, after considering the prescribed principles for codes of conduct set out in the Principles for Codes of Conduct Regulation 136/2022, DIRECTS Administration to undertake a review of the existing Council Code of Conduct Policy, as attached to the report dated March 17, 2023 from the City Manager, titled “Council Code of Conduct” and to report back to Council with recommendations.

    1. Vary Table 1 Section 7.3 by waiving the requirement for Portland Cement Concrete Sidewalks along Boundary Road;
    2. Vary Table 1 Section 7.3 by waiving the requirement for Highway Works;
    3. Vary Table 1 Section 7.4 by waiving the requirement for Sewage Collection and Disposal system, including service laterals;

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council APPROVES the request from Engage Sport North for registered targeted athletes to be provided free access to the Prince George Aquatic Centre as described in the report dated April 12, 2023 from the Director of Civic Facilities and Events titled “Engage Sport North - Partnership Proposal”.

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY - ADAM DAVEY
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration to pursue “Option 1 – 12-hour overnight patrols within the vicinity of Lower Patricia (7pm to 7am)” on a trial basis for the remainder of 2023, as described in the report dated April 4, 2023, entitled, “Lower Patricia encampment: Enhanced security options & supporting the Province’s new “Homes For People” action plan, to close encampments,” from the Director of Public Safety.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council AUTHORIZES Administration to install No-Post concrete barriers along the accessway at Lower Patricia to ensure emergency vehicle access, as described in the report dated April 4, 2023, entitled, “Lower Patricia Encampment: Enhanced Security Options and Supporting the Province’s New “Homes For People” Action Plan to Close Encampments,” from the Director of Public Safety.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council POSTPONES consideration of final reading and adoption of proposed “City of Prince George Parks and Open Space Bylaw No. 7370, 2002, Amendment Bylaw No. 9389, 2023” to a future regular Council meeting, following Council’s direction to Administration regarding the enhanced security options.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council ENDORSES the Province’s new “Homes for People” action plan that includes “more homes to support people experiencing homelessness” and “new actions to close encampments” by offering Prince George to serve as a pilot community to implement the new Provincial response teams and housing as soon as possible.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council GRANTS FINAL READING AND ADOPTION of "City of Prince George Equipment Financing Bylaw No. 9382, 2023."

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council GRANTS FINAL READING AND ADOPTION of "Parks and Open Space Bylaw No. 7370, 2002, Amendment Bylaw No. 9389, 2023."
