  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DENY Variance Permit No. VP100506 to vary City of Prince George Zoning Bylaw No.7850, 2007 for the property legally described as Lot 15, District Lot 1433, Cariboo District Plan 30304, as follows:

    1. Vary Section 10.2.6 1. by increasing the maximum total combined gross floor area of accessory buildings and structures on site from 90.0 m2 to 153.8 m2, as shown on Exhibit “A” to VP100506; and
    2. Vary Section 10.2.6 2. by increasing the maximum height of an accessory building from 5.0 m to 6.6 m, as shown on Exhibit “B” to VP100506.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    Be it resolved that:

    1. Council supports the issuance of a Cannabis Retail License for the subject property as the applicant's proposal is consistent with the City of Prince George Liquor and Cannabis License Policy. The impacts of a Cannabis License in this area of the community are unknown, given that no cannabis stores are currently open in Prince George. Council, therefore, has considered a Temporary Use Permit that would facilitate a retail cannabis use to allow the City of Prince George to gain an understanding of the extent of impacts a retail cannabis use will have on the community in this area.
    2. Council's comments on the prescribed considerations are as set out in the March 20, 2019 staff report from Ian Wells, General Manager of Planning and Development, for Cannabis Retail License Application No. CN000001.
    3. The methods used to gather the views of residents are as follows: The views of potentially affected property owners were collected in a Public Hearing held on April 8, 2019 in Council Chambers. The public notice for this hearing included 1) a sign was posted on the property ten (10) days prior to the hearing, 2) written notification to owners and tenants in occupation of all parcels within the area that was the subject of the application, and within a distance of 30 metres from the land that was the subject of this application ten (10) days prior to the hearing, and 3) advertisements were placed in two (2) consecutive issues of a newspaper, not less than three (3) and not more than ten (10) days before the hearing. The views of affected property owners are as summarized in the minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 8, 2019.

    THAT Council APPROVE Temporary Use Permit No. TU000045 for the property legally described as Lot 2, Block 150, District Lot 343, Cariboo District, Plan 1268.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    Be it resolved that:

    1. Council supports the issuance of a Cannabis License at the subject property for the following reasons: The applicant's proposal is consistent with the City of Prince George Liquor and Cannabis License Policy.     1. RECEIVE the report dated March 11, 2019 from the General Manager of Engineering and Public Works titled "Bear Smart Community Update" and attachments for information; and
    2. AUTHORIZE Administration to pursue the recommendations included in the Prince George Bear Smart Status Implementation – 2019 Update report

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council:

    1. RECEIVE FOR INFORMATION the Gateway Business Improvement Area Society Financial Statements as attached to the report dated March 25, 2019 from the General Manager of Planning and Development;
    2. APPROVE the Gateway Business Improvement Area Society 2019 Budget as attached to the report dated March 25, 2019 from the General Manager of Planning and Development; and
    3. APPROVE the bylaw renewal for Gateway Business Improvement Area Society using a Local Area Service on Council Initiative Subject to Petition Against process.
