Business & Retail Crime Response Forum

• RECOMMENDATION #1:

  That Council DIRECTS Administration to coordinate and facilitate a Business & Retail Crime Response Forum, with requested participation from the RCMP, and invited representatives from the retail and business community, including organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Prince George to represent local and small-scale retailers, and an invitation for staff from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General to participate.

• RECOMMENDATION #2:

  That Council DIRECTS Administration to report back to Council with a summary of outcomes and next steps identified by participants, recognizing that the City’s role is to help facilitate stronger collaboration between the RCMP and local business community to address ongoing crime and safety concerns.

• RECOMMENDATION #3:

  That Council CONSIDERS “City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 8383, 2011, Amendment Bylaw No. 9545, 2025”, in conjunction with the current Regional District Solid Waste Management Plan and confirm there are no issues.

• RECOMMENDATION #4:

  2. Publish notification of public consultation in accordance with the “City of Prince George Public Notice Bylaw No. 9329, 2022”.
• RECOMMENDATION #7:

• RECOMMENDATION #8:

  That the City of Prince George SUPPORTS the grant application to Northern Development Initiative Trust, Recreation Infrastructure Program, from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club for $214,500, 50% matching funds for the purchase of a new grooming machine to maintain the club’s cross country and biathlon trail networks.

• RECOMMENDATION:

  That the City of Prince George SUPPORTS the application by the Community Arts Council of Prince George & District for the NDIT Cultural Infrastructure Program grant of up to $120,000 to support the Prince George Playhouse Lighting System Revitalization project.
