  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the agenda for the regular meeting of Council scheduled for February 22, 2021, be amended by adding eighteen (18) items of correspondence to agenda item D.7 and one (1) item of correspondence to agenda item F.1, and that the agenda BE ADOPTED AS AMENDED.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That the attached minutes of the regular Council meeting held February 8, 2021, be adopted as read on this day and that such minutes as read set out all of the business before Council at that meeting and fully and properly record all of the resolutions and bylaws passed and adopted by Council at that meeting.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council RECEIVES FOR INFORMATION the report dated February 5, 2021 from the Acting Deputy City Manager titled “Monthly Building Permit and Development Permit Summary (January 2021)”.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council RECEIVES FOR INFORMATION the report dated February 12, 2021 from the Director of Finance titled “2020 Q4 Consultant Spending Report”.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council:

    1. APPROVES the City of Prince George to be considered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) to host one (1) FCM Board of Directors meeting in either March or September 2023 or March or September 2024; and
    2. APPROVES a contribution of up to twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) from the Major Events Reserve to support the event if it is awarded.
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council ENDORSES the nomination of Councillor Cori Ramsay to the North Central Local Government Association (NCLGA) Board of Directors for the position of President.

ACTING DIRECTOR OF CIVIC OPERATIONS - BLAKE MCINTOSH
  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council:

    1. APPROVES the addition of the purchase and installation of the Ninja Cross obstacle course to the scope of Project #1504 – “Four Seasons Leisure Pool Replacement”; and
    2. APPROVES a budget amendment to Project #1504 – “Four Seasons Leisure Pool Replacement” to show a total project cost of $36,250,000 with funding sources of $25,500,000 in MFA Debt Funding and $10,750,000 in Grants, utilizing both the Regional District of Fraser Fort George contribution of $750,000 and the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program grant funding awarded to the project of $10,000,000.

  • RECOMMENDATION:

    That Council DIRECTS Administration on the future of the Four Seasons Leisure Pool (FSLP) regarding the following two options for consideration:

    1. Permanently shutdown the Four Seasons Leisure Pool and plan for demolition; OR
    2. Maintain the current status of Four Seasons Leisure Pool for future limited reopening consideration, following the partial resumption of leisure activities.

    2. CONFIRMS the methods used to gather the views of potentially affected property owners were in accordance with section 4: Public Consultation of the City of Prince George Liquor and Cannabis Licensing Policy and that the views of affected residents are as summarized in the minutes of the Public Hearing held on February 22, 2021; and

       

    3. SUPPORTS the approval of the Cannabis License Application to allow the non-medical retail sale of cannabis for Grasshopper Retail Inc. located at 6473 Hart Highway subject to the adoption of “City of Prince George Zoning Bylaw No. 7850, 2007, Amendment Bylaw No. 9164, 2020, for the following reasons:

       

    This application is not expected to have a negative impact on the community or produce any significant negative land use impacts on adjacent properties.
